Strengthening International Law and Parliamentary Democracy in a Changing World Order: Commonwealth Leadership

HOW TO: Nominate a Delegation and Register for the CPC

STEP 1. Branches to nominate
✓ Branches are invited to nominate their delegation of Voting Delegates, Delegation Secretaries and Committee Members.

✓ This step refers to constitutional attendees only (those who attend the General Assembly). Other categories of attendee will be invited to register later.

✓ To nominate, please submit the Branch Nomination Form NOTE: The CPA Constitution stipulates that one third of all Voting Delegates should be women, and where only two Delegates are entitled, one must be a woman.

STEP 2. Non-compliant nominations:
✓ If non-compliant, your nomination form will be returned to you with the rationale, and we request you re-send in adherence to your delegation entitlement.

✓ Please re-send to cpc@cpahq.org rather than completing a second nomination form.

STEP 3. Compliant nominations:
✓ If compliant, and you selected to ‘use CPA travel agent’ on the nomination form, you will be contacted directly by our travel provider to arrange travel itineraries for your Voting Delegates, Delegation Secretaries and Committee Members.

✓ Otherwise, please send 3 x quote and itinerary for each person attending in the above category, to cpc@cpahq.org, if you intend to make a claim for reimbursement from CPA HQ Secretariat.

STEP 4. Register your full delegation
✓ Once a nomination is approved, you will receive the invitation to register your full delegation.

✓ A registration form must be completed by, or on behalf of, all persons travelling to Cape Town for the event, including accompanying persons and spouses or partners. NOTE: A full travel itinerary and passport-style bio photo must be uploaded.

STEP 5. Confirmation
✓ Each registrant will receive a confirmation email to both their ‘preferred’ and ‘secondary’ email address provided in their registration form, as well as download instructions and log in credentials for the 69 CPC Event app (if not already set up)

✓ When using the app, please ensure you turn on push notifications, as important updates will be communicated on this platform, including alterations to the programme and how to book onto the Official Tours and other events.
